Each bark collar system you purchase from No Bark Collar 4 Less comes with detailed instructions on how to correctly use a bark collar system. Training your dog on a bark collar system is fairly easy to do as long as you follow some guidelines. This page is specifically designed to guide your through a step by step training regiment to correctly teach you how to use a bark collar system.

Part 1: Introduction

The first two days is supposed to be the days where you introduce your dog to the bark collar. Introducing is all you are doing; you do not want the dog to associate the bark collar as something negative. This will introduction phase of training will allow the dog time to get adjusted to the feeling of the collar around its neck.

    DAY 1

  • The goal of the first day is to have the dog associate the collar with something that is positive. It is encouraged to use positive reinforcement to turn the collar into something that the dog views as positive. For example, whenever you place the collar on the dog, give him a treat. This will allow the dog to see the collar as something positive and not negative.
  • For the first day, only keep the collar on the dog for a few hours at a time.
  • It is important that you fit the collar on the dog’s neck just as if the anti-bark mechanism is activated.
  • Repeat the steps a couple times over the day.
  • Remember to always show your dog a treat whenever you introduce and then reintroduce the collar.
  • DAY 2

  • Day two will be the same as day one ,but use a 3 to 6 hour interval between introducing and reintroducing the collar throughout the day.
  • DAY 3

  • The dog should be comfortable enough with the bark collar by the third day to where he can wear it the whole day. If this is not the case, repeat Day 2's process as needed.
  • PART 2: TRAINING

  • Activate the anti-bark mechanism
  • It is important that you choose an environment that has the least amount of distractions. This is important because the dog needs to fully understand why he is being corrected.
  • When the anti-bark mechanism is turned on, closely observe the dog behavior during the first few days of training.
  • The first time the dog receives a correction it will startle him/her. Do not worry, bark collar systems do not harm your pet.
  • After a few corrections, the dog will start to realize that excessive barking will cause him some displeasure. After the distinction is made, the barking will become less frequent.
